Ethanol is the cheapest horsepower in Illinois. A flex fuel setup reads the blend in the tank and the tune adjusts itself, so you fill up with E30 one week and E85 the next and the car just runs. Done right it's also safer than a pure pump-gas tune at the same power.
Ethanol content sensor spliced into the feed line, a harness into the DME or a standalone module, and on the higher-power cars bigger low- and high-pressure pumps and port injection to keep up.
